The Pride Of Christ

Is not one person, or a bunch of people, but a whole city?!! The Lamb’s Bride is not just the Church today but the entire City of God with all the people in it! (Revelation 21:9-10).

1. John described it as “the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.” Hebrews 12:22 also refers to it as “the heavenly Jerusalem.” It’s brought into the new earth out of heaven with inhabitants living in it!

2. Her inhabitants include all those who are invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (see the “Did You Know” article in May 2024 TeeVo).

These are those who have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Exodus 32:31-33, Philippians 4:3, Revelation 3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12-15).

3. The beauty, glory, and splendour of the City, with all of the precious gems used to build it, are vividly described in Revelation 21:11-21.

4. This City lies foursquare, meaning it’s as long and wide as it is high. It’s a complete square of equal measurement all around (Revelation 21:16).

5. The streets of the City are made of pure gold, like transparent glass. You could call it “glass gold” (Revelation 21:21).

6. There’s no temple in this City because, as Revelation 21:22 says, “The Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”

7. The City has no need of the sun or the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God lights it up, and the Lamb is its light.

This light coming out of this City is what the saved nations around it live by, and there’s never night there. (Revelation 21:23-25).
