Set And Follow Prayer Times – Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional November 7th

(Take Your Personal Prayer Times Seriously)

TO THE BIBLE: Acts 6:4 GNB
“We ourselves, then, will give our full time to prayer and the work of preaching.”

LET’S TALK
“Fred, it’ll soon be noon. I hope you’re ready to pray with Pastor Chris for just fifteen minutes?” Stanley asked.
“Oh, sorry, but I’m going to skip the prayer today. I have some urgent things to attend to,” Fred replied.

“That’s not right, Fred. If you had an important meeting with the President at a particular time, I’m sure you’d be ready hours ahead, and nothing would make you miss that appointment.”

“Sure, why did you say that?”
“Well, God is greater than the president of any nation; why would you want to miss a special time alone with Him?” Fred wondered.

Prayer is so important, and it’s not to be toyed with! Jesus showed this all through His earthly ministry. Matthew 17 recounts the story of an epileptic boy whom Jesus’ disciples couldn’t heal.

He was eventually brought by his father to Jesus, and the Bible says, “…Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour” (Matthew 17:18).

The disciples were confused, so they went to Jesus privately and asked why they couldn’t cast out the demon. Jesus replied, “…Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:20-21).

What Jesus said shows us that some things require extra preparation. The level of impact you want to make spiritually depends on how serious you are about praying.

If you’re trying to bring something big into reality, it’s going to take more time and intense fellowship in prayer.

That’s why it’s so important to have your own personal prayer times, where it’s just you and God, with no distractions.

Have a planned and robust prayer routine; schedule quality times where nothing can interrupt you. Give more attention to this.

Pray:
Dear Father, I’m grateful for the opportunity to pray and bring about deliberate changes during times of fellowship. I pray for lost souls the world over, that the veil of darkness is lifted from their minds, and that they receive the Gospel. I also declare that ministers of the Gospel are strengthened for this great work, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
