(The Holy Spirit Can Create For You An Atmosphere Of Prayer)
TO THE BIBLE: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 TLB
“Always keep on praying.”
LET’S TALK
When I say, “Have a spirit of prayer,” I don’t mean there’s a certain angel or spirit whose name is “Prayer.”
Absolutely not! I’m referring to that period when the Holy Spirit brings an overwhelming atmosphere and influence of prayer into your life, such that the urge and need to pray is so uncontrollable that you can’t but pray.
That anointing rests on you and influences you over a period of time. Prayer becomes all that you think about, and that influence can stay on you for months, a year, or even longer.
This isn’t just something that happens when God chooses to; it’s what you invite, by your desire. The Bible says He satisfies the thirsty soul (Psalm 107:9).
So, when you’re thirsty for Him, and you begin that fellowship of prayer, it won’t be long before that “spirit of prayer” comes on you, creating a passion and an overwhelming urge for intercession in you. You’d find that you’re constantly praying.
Every now and then, the Spirit will draw your heart to His thinking—His motivations, visions, plans and purpose—expressing Himself through you in prayer. How important that is!
During the period that the Holy Spirit does this in you and through you, you’ll just know that something is about to be unleashed; something is about to be birthed. Glory to God!
So, invite that spirit of prayer by plunging yourself into Him through your strong desire, and effect changes in your life, and in the lives of others.
