(Live By What God’s Word Says)
TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:8 NIV
“Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.”
LET’S TALK
“Pastor, I need your help,” Maphella urgently asked of her Pastor at the end of the church service.
“What’s the challenge, Sister Maphella?” the Pastor gently enquired.
“Pastor, I feel so far away from God,” Maphella opened up, “I just don’t feel the Spirit of God within me like before. Has He left me?” she asked, with tears forming in her eyes.
“But, Sister Maphella, the Spirit of God never leaves you once He takes His residence inside you,” he gently counselled. “He’s always with you whether you feel like it or not. Don’t use your feelings to determine if He’s in you because He is, and He wants you to fellowship with Him more often.”
In Christianity, we don’t judge by our feelings; we follow the Word. That you “feel” close to God or far from Him doesn’t make any difference. You live in Him, and He lives in you.
How much closer can you get to someone who lives in you? God wants you to know and grow in the knowledge of His Word; He desires you to walk in the light of your oneness with Him. He wants you to live by what the Word says about you and not by your feelings or the opinions of others.
The devil may lie to you and make you feel you’re still a sinner but don’t be deceived. The day you gave your heart to Christ, you were recreated and became the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
God had to tell you this because your mind doesn’t know it and can’t comprehend it. It’s revelation knowledge for the human spirit, through the Holy Spirit. Irrespective of how you may “feel,” He wants you to “see,” to reckon that you’re in Christ now. The old habits are passed away; the old frustrations and struggles are passed away. You have a brand-new life of glory and righteousness. Hallelujah!

I walk by faith and not by sensory perception. I accept and live by the reality of the Word. I’m in Christ and Christ is in me; thank you, Father, for this blessed fellowship. Hallelujah!
