Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Devotional December 18th – The Goodness Of God

(There’s More To The Righteousness of God)

TO THE BIBLE: Luke 18:18-19
“Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.”

LET’S TALK
In Christ, righteousness is a gift that we received but there’s more to it. The righteousness of God is also about the goodness and justness of God.

In our opening scripture, Jesus was teaching that rich young ruler something about the “goodness” of God. He was showing him that goodness is about righteousness (rightness or right judgment), which is from God

How can you judge what’s right and what’s wrong? How do you determine what’s of God and what’s not? It’s by the righteousness of God! How then can one walk in the righteousness of God? It’s by siding with His Word.

For example, maybe you find yourself having to judge an issue between two friends. You’re not supposed to look for who’s right or who’s wrong; you’re to take sides with the Word! If you lead your life with such a mentality, your life will become beautiful, because you look at the world from the standpoint of God’s righteousness, not man’s opinion.

Think about living your life like that, because it would take away such base things as envy, wrath, malice, anger, etc. Then, there’ll be an awesome force—a love attraction—in your life that pulls people to you. You become the epitome of God’s goodness: the expression and representation of how good God is.

Pray:
Thank you, Father, for the gift of righteousness bestowed upon me. Now, I have your righteousness, which causes me to always do right, manifesting your goodness, nature, grace, and kindness, to my world, seeing things from your perspective, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
