(Fear And Worry Short-circuit The Power Of God)
TO THE BIBLE: Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
LET’S TALK
In the world today, with all the lies and fears being perpetuated and with nations having their economies decimated, you might be tempted to start worrying about what the future holds for you. However, as a Christian, you shouldn’t find yourself worrying because if you do, you’ll short-circuit God’s power that’s already at work in you.
Some people have an endless “worry list.” If they’re not worried about the future, then it’s about their health, family, what to wear, money, education, etc. That’s not the life of a Christian.
The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This is God’s will for your life; He wants you free from the struggles, worries, and troubles that weigh men down.
Someone might ask, “If I’ve got a lot of problems, isn’t it right to worry?” You can worry for as long as you want about something; that’s not going to make it turn out right for you.
Worrying is contrary to the Word; it’s an expression of faithlessness.
God told us to never worry because He knows its adverse effects. Worry sets up a magnetic forcefield that attracts to you everything consistent with what you’re worried about.
Anxiety makes you imagine negative possibilities, and your imagination of those negative possibilities crystallises them. In plain terms, worrying makes your fears possible!
So when worry attacks, repel it immediately because it’s a spirit. Use the Word against it. If you find that something is getting your attention, to the point you’re almost getting worried, do what the Word says.
Make your request known to God, and then give Him thanks that it’s done. You’d immediately experience such indescribable peace from within that others would wonder how you could be at ease amid the storms of life.
