(Let Your Life Be Centered On Pleasing Him)
TO THE BIBLE: Colossians 1:9-10 NIV
“…We continually ask God…that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”
LET’S TALK
In a world where the love of many is growing cold, you must guard your passion for pleasing the Lord.
Don’t let your heart be pulled in so many directions that you lose your desire to honor the Father.
If you ever find yourself lacking enthusiasm about pleasing God, then you might need to check your love for Jesus. When you truly love Him, your heart’s greatest desire is to put Him first and live in a way that honors Him.
Now why does pleasing Him matter? Because we belong to Him, and our lives are meant for Him. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:15, “…He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
God isn’t just our Father—He’s also our Lord. Acknowledging His lordship over our lives is what brought us into salvation in the first place.
So, living to please Him isn’t just a choice; it’s a natural response to knowing He’s in charge of everything.
The Lord Jesus set the perfect example. He said in John 8:29, “…for I always do those things that please Him.”
In John 5:30, He said, ““…I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” His entire life was centered on pleasing God, and He wants us to have that same mindset.
He made it even clearer in John 6:38 KJV: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
And in John 4:34 KJV, He said something truly inspiring: “…My meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.”
The Lord Jesus showed us what it means to fully submit to the Father’s will. Our goal should be to follow His example—there’s no greater joy than living to please God.
