TO THE BIBLE: Proverbs 8:1-3 TLB
“Can’t you hear the voice of wisdom? She is standing at the city gates and at every fork in the road, and at the door of every house. Listen to what she says.”
LET’S TALK
The Word of God is the wisdom of God. In Proverbs 8, we read about the appeal of Wisdom. For example, in the eighteenth verse, Wisdom says, “Riches and honor are with me, enduring riches and righteousness.”
However, in spite of this, why are there still so many poor people in the world? It’s because many ignore Wisdom.
Again, Wisdom says, “I traverse the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries” (Proverbs 8:20-21).
This should be enough to encourage you to immerse yourself in the study and meditation of the Word daily. When you give the Word attention, you’re giving attention to Wisdom.
Sadly, many haven’t cultivated the habit of exalting Wisdom, of embracing and celebrating Wisdom. How do you exalt or honour Wisdom? It’s by honouring the Word, giving the Word first place in your life, and making the Word your ultimate authority.
Proverbs 4:7-9 TLB says, “Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And with your wisdom, develop common sense and good judgment. If you exalt wisdom, she will exalt you. Hold her fast, and she will lead you to great honor; she will place a beautiful crown upon your head.”
The wisdom of God—the Word of God—will bring you to a place of honour. That means if you don’t exalt the Word of God in your life and in the lives of others, you won’t come to a place of honour.

I immerse myself in the Word; therefore, my life is the expression of the wisdom of God. As I give time to studying and meditating on God’s Word, I’m more acquainted with the character of the Father; I have insight into His perfect will, and I walk worthy of Him, pleasing Him in all things. Hallelujah!
