(We’re God’s Sent Ones)
TO THE BIBLE: 2 Corinthians 5:19 NASB
“…God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”
LET’S TALK
Every Christian is called into the ministry of reconciliation, which means we are called to be soul winners. And as we carry out this ministry, we are not alone.
The Lord is working with us, confirming His Word with signs following. We are witnesses to the world that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. We have been sent to the whole world to let them know that God is not counting their trespasses against them.
No one today is suffering or going to hell because of their sins. Why? Because Jesus has already paid the full penalty for everyone’s sin. This doesn’t excuse sin, but it’s important for us to understand God’s perspective and place things in their right order.
Did you know that Jesus went to hell? He did so on our behalf because our sins were laid on Him.
He suffered so that no one else would have to suffer. The only reason someone would be condemned and go to hell is if they were ignorant of or rejected salvation in Jesus Christ.
Then, they would face judgement because they didn’t receive what was paid for them—the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood. That is the reason for hell and the lake of fire.
However, it’s not God’s will that anyone should perish and go to hell. That is why He has sent us to tell them who Jesus is and what He has done for them. They can only know, believe, and receive eternal life if we take the message to them.
As Romans 10:13–15 says, “For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent….” We are the sent ones.
Jesus said in John 20:21, “…Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” Hallelujah! We carry His message of love, salvation, and righteousness.
