“CREATE”

To create means “to bring something into existence from non-existent material.” It implies using your imagination to design, fabricate, or assemble mentally.

Looking at the account of creation as recorded in Genesis, we learn a remarkable lesson on the implication of the word “create.”

When God set out to make man, He first had to “create” him. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

At this stage, man only existed inside God. He wasn’t physically present. The Bible underscores this fact in Genesis 2:5 when it says, ”…there was not a man to till the ground.”

However, the seventh verse of Genesis 2 reads: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

The word “formed” here is translated from the Hebrew word yatsar, meaning to mould or bring into shape from pre-existing material. Thus, the physical entity called man first existed in the non-physical realm.

Similarly, God has given every human being the ability to imagine or create. It’s a gift you have from Him, and it’s so important that you recognise the power of this gift and how it can shape your life.

Whatever you can imagine, you can accomplish. And eventually, the total of your imagination determines the kind of life you live.
