(Live Your Life With Purpose)
TO THE BIBLE: Acts 26:16
“…Rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.”
LET’S TALK
“Nobody should tell me how to live my life; I just want to have fun and hang out with my friends. Is that really too much to ask for?” Collins snapped angrily at his mum.
“I’m not trying to stop you from enjoying your youth. I just want you to realise that there’s a purpose to life and a time for everything. Live your life with a purpose,” his mum gently admonished him.
Reading this, you might want to ask, “So what’s my purpose? Why am I here?” To find these answers, you’ll first have to understand what “purpose” means.
Purpose is an idea or aim kept in the mind as the goal towards which one’s efforts are directed. It’s a definite intention, the object or reason for which something exists or is done.
In Collins’ case, he didn’t understand what his purpose in life was; he thought it was all about self-gratification. But the Lord Jesus came to earth for a specific purpose, and He wasn’t in doubt as to what that purpose was.
In John 10:10 (NIV), He established His purpose: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” He knew He didn’t just come to the world to live and die as a carpenter; His whole life was in pursuit of a purpose—to save and give life to all men.
In John 20:21 (NIV), He said, “…Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” This is now your life’s purpose; you’ve been sent to reach everyone with the Gospel of life.
The day you gave your heart to Christ, He gave you His kind of thinking and made you a saviour, just like Him. So, let your whole life be in pursuit of this purpose; be passionate about God’s Kingdom and its expansion to the ends of the earth. That way, your life will take on a whole new meaning.

Speak:
I’m a missionary Christian; I’m on a mission from God to reach and give all men life with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I refuse to be encumbered by the cares of this life but rather give myself totally to the pursuit of my divine purpose.
