(Preach The Gospel Boldly)
TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 1:8 GNB
“Do not be ashamed, then, of witnessing for our Lord; neither be ashamed of me, a prisoner for Christ’s sake. Instead, take your part in suffering for the Good News, as God gives you the strength for it.”
LET’S TALK
Toby was inspired and touched when he heard his Pastor preach about soul winning on Sunday. As a result, he decided to win a soul each day for the next ten days: he won two souls the first two days but on the third day, the moment he approached someone, he was snubbed.
Meeting another person, she laughed at him and walked away. He felt really ashamed and began thinking he shouldn’t have spoken to anyone in the first place.
Some people become ashamed of Jesus Christ, just because of some flak they caught from others. Hey, that shouldn’t be you!
When people insult you or make mockery of you because of the Gospel you preach, you shouldn’t become ashamed or wish you weren’t associated with Jesus Christ.
Paul the Apostle was faced with similar challenges, yet he told Timothy: “Do not be ashamed, then, of witnessing for our Lord; neither be ashamed of me, a prisoner for Christ’s sake.
Instead, take your part in suffering for the Good News, as God gives you the strength for it” (2 Timothy 1:8 GNB).
The Lord Jesus also said in Matthew 5:11-12 (GNB): “Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers.
Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven….” This is the same conviction that made Paul say, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who has faith…” (Romans 1:16 RSV).
There shouldn’t be anything anyone could say or do to make you ashamed of Christ and His Gospel. Preach it with boldness everywhere!

Dear Father, I’m courageous about the Gospel because it saves sinners, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, I minister grace to them, and usher them into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
