(Learn To Stir Up The Anointing Within You)

TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 1:6
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”

LET’S TALK
There are Christians who pray for a “fresh anointing” every so often, as though the anointing they had received earlier had gone stale. Some go as far as asking for a “double portion” of the anointing but such prayers are pointless.

How can you get a double dose of something you already have in full? For the Christian, there’s no such thing as the Spirit coming afresh on you, or a fresh anointing coming on you; it’s not in the Bible!

Stop praying, crying, and begging for what you already have! What the Word teaches is that when you receive the Holy Spirit, you receive the full measure. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit is what brings the anointing.

Therefore, you have the fullness of God and the full anointing. Ephesians 3:19 says you ought “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” This is God’s purpose; all you have to do is stir up what you’ve got inside you.

It’s like when a motorcyclist revs his engine; he’s stirring a formerly idle engine in preparation for peak performance. So, stir up the power of the Spirit, and let it surge through your being. If you don’t stir it up, it’ll remain dormant. The Bible says, “…Do not be drunk with wine…but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). In other words, be always stirred in the Spirit.

To do this, follow the same instruction Paul gave in Ephesians 5:19-21 KJV: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

I have the Holy Spirit without measure, full of the Spirit, with all His power that gives me the dynamic ability to cause changes in my world. As I stir up that power in me, I’m infused with divine strength, and the glory of God is revealed through me, causing me to reign in righteousness, with dominion over all circumstances. Hallelujah!
