Rhapsody of Realities TeeVo Devotional 14th June – No More Guilt Or Blame

NO MORE GUILT OR BLAME
(God Doesn’t Lay Blames On His Children)

TO THE BIBLE: Colossians 1:21-22 NIV
“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation….”

LET’S TALK
If you committed an offence at home, and somehow, everyone at school got to find out about it, you’d probably feel bad about it. Now, if your parents forgave you, saying that it was okay, would it still matter to you what people thought? Would you still feel bad if someone mentioned it? No, you wouldn’t. Why? Your parents, who have the authority to decide, already said it was fine. Therefore no external force can and should make you feel bad about it.

This is the blessing we enjoy in Christ; God doesn’t reproach or criticise you. What a blessing to know the true nature and character of our heavenly Father! James 1:5 says, He “…gives to all liberally and without reproach…” which means He doesn’t reproach or criticise you. He doesn’t blame you for anything. People may look down at, berate, or scold you, but God isn’t that way. He doesn’t even count your sins against you (2 Corinthians 5:19) neither does He find fault with you.

Read the opening scripture once more because it’s so comforting. It means that before God, you’re without blemish and free from accusation; you’ve been justified. Hallelujah! Christ Jesus already died for you; He was condemned in your place. 1 Peter 3:18 says, “…Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.” The one that died for you is no ordinary person. Thus, no one should condemn you anymore.

There’s therefore now no condemnation for you because you’re in Christ Jesus, and walk according to the spirit (Romans 8:1). Christ is your righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30); it doesn’t matter who accuses you; to God, you’re unblameable because of His righteousness in you. You may say, “But I’ve made mistakes.” Yes, you may have, but Jesus took responsibility for all your mistakes. He’s the reason God doesn’t charge you with wrong. Hallelujah!
