(Your Hands Lifted In Worship: A Sweet Fragrance To God)
TO THE BIBLE: John 4:23
“…The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
LET’S TALK
When you really know the Lord Jesus, your worship and praise of Him become meaningful. They’re not merely inspired by the beauty or melody of the song.
Rather, they effuse from the deep recesses of your heart in true fellowship, based on your knowledge of His greatness and loving-kindness.
There may not even be any music playing while you’re worshipping, but your heart will be so enraptured and entwined with Him, and find yourself bursting forth with songs and melodies of the Spirit.
Adherents of the various religions in the world praise, worship, and pray. The question is, who is the object of their worship? Who are they praying to? What are they saying to him? And what might be his response, if any?
Your worship and praise of God has to come from a place of knowledge of His Word. Otherwise, it would be ineffectual and unacceptable to God.
No wonder today’s opening scripture says “…The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
Also, in 1 Timothy 2:8, the Bible tells us, “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” As you lift your hands in worship, you’re offering to Him a sacrifice of a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Go ahead and practise this now. Worship the Father from your spirit and according to His Word, with your hands lifted up.
