(Learn To Identify And Apply God’s Wisdom)
TO THE BIBLE: Proverbs 13:18 RSV
“Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but he who heeds reproof is honored.”
LET’S TALK
The Book of Proverbs is such an important book of the Bible. It’s a book of wisdom that every smart Christian should study meticulously.
It shows the importance of God’s instructions and their applications to our lives. Not everybody knows wisdom and instruction.
But Proverbs 1:2 CEV says the book of “Proverbs will teach you wisdom and self-control and how to understand sayings with deep meanings.” This is what the Word of God can do for everyone.
The Word of God is full of God’s wisdom and instructions, and there’s a cost for not attending to these instructions.
Proverbs 4:13 refers to God’s instructions as life: “Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.”
The opening verse says, “Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction….”
The fifteenth chapter further buttresses this clear warning; it says, “You hurt only yourself by rejecting instruction, but it makes good sense to accept it” (Proverbs 15:32 CEV). Nobody needs to be poor today; just take a hold of God’s Word!
The Word of God is God’s instruction manual for an extraordinary life of glory, dominion, and victory.
Therefore, consciously practise fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word. That’s where you receive His instructions and guidance that put you over circumstances and the adversities of life. Live out the Word every day.
This is exactly what James tells us when he says, “…Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22 RSV).
This is what we do in the New Testament: we’re the Word in manifestation. Through us, the Word of God is lived beyond the written pages. We’re the Word of God in action today.
And so, in your personal life, study the Word; “eat” and digest the Word. As you do, following His instructions becomes your way of life, and His instructions make great. Hallelujah!
