(The Flesh Has Been Crucified In Christ)
TO THE BIBLE: Galatians 5:16 NASB
“…Walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”
LET’S TALK
Have you met Christians who struggle with their flesh? What’s the flesh, you might ask? Well, the flesh is essentially concerned with your senses, appetites, and the things you desire to do.
The Bible tells us, “…Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24).
Notice that the verse doesn’t say, “Those who are Christ’s are trying to or praying to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires.”
If someone is crying out to the Lord for help in crucifying the flesh, they are praying the wrong prayer and struggling in vain! Don’t ever find yourself in that struggle.
If that’s the case with you, stop right away and declare, “From this day forward, Jesus Christ is the Lord over my mind, appetites, and desires. I have overcome the flesh and its passions; I’m Christ-minded.”
Fill your thoughts with the words of Christ; that is what you need. When the Word of God controls your mind, you become a master. The Lordship of Jesus is the solution to all struggles.
When Jesus is the Lord of your body, you do what Paul explained in Romans 12:1: you present your body to Him because your body belongs to Him.
1 Corinthians 6:15 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!”
The body in which you live is God’s property; you are living inside it as a tenant and custodian, taking care of it for God. Be bold and confident that you are God’s headquarters.
Romans 8:12-14 says, “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” You live in the Spirit; therefore, walk in the Spirit, and you will not gratify or carry out any desire of the flesh. Hallelujah!

Pray:
Dear Father, my body and all my members and faculties are a living sacrifice, holy, devoted, consecrated and well-pleasing to you, which is my service and spiritual worship. I have crucified the flesh with its passions and appetites and desires. My mind is yielded to your Word, and my heart is regulated by the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
